Meet Andrea Brizee Wong!

She is a 35-year-old Inpatient Clinical Pharmacist from Sacramento, California. She discovered our fabulous community when she purchased a Peloton bike after she had to take a break from running: “Here I thought I was purchasing a bike, but instead I gained an entire new outlook on life!”

1. What was the last movie you watched in theaters?

Avengers: Endgame. I won’t spoil the ending for those who haven’t watched it yet, but I ugly cried like three times!

2. Who is your celebrity crush? Who was your childhood celebrity crush?

Does Denis Morton count as a current celeb crush?! In middle school, I was obsessed with all things boy bands - Backstreet Boys, N*Sync, 98 Degrees, Hanson.

3. What is your favorite song?

There are so many, but right now it’s “Have It All” by Jason Mraz. It’s an immediate pick-me-up with such an awesome feel-good vibe.

4. If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

My son always makes me play pretend as Captain Marvel, Spider Gwen, or Black Widow. All of these women are badass, but I think what they have in common is the strength to fight for what’s right, so I’ll take that as my superpower.

5. What is your proudest moment?

Finishing my first marathon ranks up pretty high on my list of proud moments, but so does not quitting after falling off pace during my second marathon.

6. How do you relax?

I like getting engrossed in a good story - both reading and on TV. I was super stoked about the last season of Game of Thrones and am (im)patiently awaiting the next book. Can someone tell George RR Martin to hurry up?

7. Do you have a creative outlet? If so, what is it?

My three-year-old son, Elliot, doesn't leave a whole ton of time for creative outlets! I do like to scrapbook, but I think I've only gotten through the first six months of his baby book.

8. If you had a boat, what would you name it?

Thor Elliot. My son always introduces himself to new people as “Thor” and when they question him he tells them “Thor Elliot.”  I can’t think of a better way to memorialize this confident and imaginative little man who, if you can't tell, as stolen my heart.

9. If you could sit down and have a drink or coffee with anyone, alive or dead, who would you choose?

In 2011, my mother committed suicide. I would give anything for a few more minutes with her, so I'd 100% want to sit down with my mom.

10. Do you have a hidden talent?

Not giving up!

11. What motivates you?

There is nothing more motivating to me than a good challenge. At work, I'm challenged with making sure that my patients are on the safest and most effective antimicrobials for their infections. With my kiddo, the challenge is raising a kind human who will step out into this world and make it a better place. Personally, it's about making myself better. Sometimes, that means completing the latest ride.sweat.love tribe challenge or crushing my PR. Other times, the challenge is slowing down and being gentler and more patient with myself and those around me.
